Overall, the characters in Mexican onmipresentes pastorelas are: Angel (depicting the Archangel Michael), the shepherds, the hermit (who embodies the spirit of the ancestors) and the devil always interested and willing to steal the baby Jesus, Child Sol). Lucifer, the enemy of light and forever Knight, you may occupy, for the first Indian converts, place Yayahuqui Texcatlipocatl, the black, and is almost always the most important character in the pastorals.
